1. Introduction

Opes ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you sign up for our Android waitlist at opesapp.com or use the Opes mobile application (available now on iOS, with Android coming soon).

2. Information We Collect

When you sign up for the Android waitlist:

  • Full name — to personalise communications.
  • Email address — to notify you when the Android release is available.
  • Platform preference (iOS, Android, or Both) — to gauge platform demand and prioritise the Android release.

When you use the Opes app:

  • Financial data — transactions, goals, and categories you enter manually. On the free tier, this data is stored exclusively on your device and never transmitted to our servers.
  • Account information — name and email address if you create an Opes account (required for Opes Pro cloud features). You may sign in using email and password, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google. When using a third-party sign-in, we receive only your name and email address from that provider.
  • User ID — an anonymised identifier assigned to your account by Supabase when you register. This ID is used internally to associate your data with your account and is never shared with third parties except RevenueCat for subscription management.
  • Device information — device type and OS version, used only for crash reporting and compatibility.
  • Purchase and subscription status — managed entirely by Apple or Google. We receive only your subscription entitlement status via RevenueCat (no payment card data is ever shared with us).

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To notify you when the Android release becomes available.
  • To send occasional product updates relevant to the launch of Opes.
  • To provide and improve the Opes app and its features.
  • To manage your subscription and restore purchases across your devices.
  • To respond to support requests.

We will not use your information for advertising, sell it to third parties, or share it outside of the services described in this policy.

4. Data Storage

Free tier: All financial data is stored exclusively on your device using SQLite. We have no access to it.

Opes Pro (cloud backup): If you enable cloud backup, your data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and stored in Supabase (hosted on AWS with industry-standard security, including Row Level Security policies). You may delete your cloud data at any time from app settings → Profile → Delete Account.

Android waitlist data is retained until you request deletion or until the Android release ships. Cloud data (Opes Pro) is retained until you delete your account.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your data from our systems.
  • Export your financial data at any time (Opes Pro) or by contacting us.
  • Withdraw consent to receive communications at any time via the unsubscribe link.

8. Children's Privacy

Opes is not directed at individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
